The government announced 20 smart cities, congratulates Modi.

The lists of 20 cities which will be developed under Smart City project were announced. Bhubaneswar was on the top of list.The list of the Smart City was readyafter receiving the results of an examination which was conducted by the Ministry.

Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu named the cities which are going to be developed under Smart city project in a press conference. No city of Bengalcould make it to the list. Bhubaneswarwas on the top of listwhereas Bhopalwas on the bottom of the list.

Naidu said while releasing the list Bhubaneswar will be India's first smart city. The cities which government has chosen for Smart City project includes Bhubaneswar, Pune, Jaipur, Surat, Ahmedabad, Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Jabalpur, Solapur, Davanagere, Indore, New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), Coimbatore, Kakinada, Belgaum, Udaipur, Guwahati, Chennai, Ludhiana, Bhopal.
